Shade Sails

Shade Sails are an effective way to provide shade in just about any area. With very few limitations but the actual geometry of the shade sail and gravity. When interested in the installation of a shade sail there are a few key items to keep in mind.

How do you use the area?

When and what time of day (or year) do you typically use this area?

What are your future plans with the area?

What color would you like?

The installation of a shade sail is fairly seamless with 5 steps to the final installation of your new custom shade sail. The first step is an on-site consultation with one of our shade experts to determine where you want the shade sail to be placed. At this time we will take accurate measurements and photos of the area to help us come up with a conceptual design provided in 3D renderings.

The next step would be the structural steel fabrication and excavation of the footings. A big misconception of shade sails is that they can be installed with lighter components. This is far from the truth. Shade sails must be engineering to withstand up 90 MPH wind gust and in some locations up 140MPH. Just the static tension of a shade sail can bend most steel columns. During the fabrication and excavation phases is where most of the work is completed. We typically use no less that 4 inch round or square columns and never dig a footing less than 4 feet deep. Common footing depths can be up to 6-8 feet.

The next step would to measure for the shade sail which is made custom for every project. We then fabricate the shade sail from these measurements and install it. Your Shade Sail project is now complete.
